Medical marijuana is also legal, kind of.
The scope is minimal, and the potency of this cannabis is also quite low. Some of the medical marijuana is imported from international boundaries.
That being said, you will find ‘legal cannabis shops’ in Milan, which sell a specific ‘light cannabis.’ The funny part is- you can buy it, but you cannot smoke it or eat it.
Well, what you do within your private property is your own business, so if you do want to smoke it or eat it, no one can stop you.

The first, most important thing you need to know about Milan is that cannabis is entirely illegal. Although you will find ‘legal cannabis shops’ around town, and even medical marijuana dispensaries, the cannabis you find here is very, well, different.
If you are caught with a small amount of cannabis on you, the cops can fine you and even confiscate your weed. However, as long as you are not creating a nuisance, disturbing the marijuana or smoking it in a public space, you will be fine.

When it comes to buying cannabis in Milan, you will find that hash is often more accessible and more plentiful than weed. That is if you are planning to buy from the street dealers. The price and quality will also vary from dealer to dealer.
You also have the option to visit any of the ‘legal cannabis shops’ in town. Of course, the potency of the cannabis here is quite laugh-worthy!
Prices of Cannabis
Just like most cities in Europe, you will find weed being sold for around 10 Euros a gram in Milan. However, it is possible to negotiate the price down by a few Euros. The cost of hash is also around the same – around 10 Euros for a gram.
Quality of weed
The quality of weed that you buy from the street dealers vary from dealer to dealer. There is no way to assure that you end up with good quality weed on your hands. You will just have to take a chance.
Of course, if you buy your cannabis from the medical dispensaries or the legal weed shops, the quality will be much better. The potency, however, is negligible.
Types of Plant
You will find certain ‘approved’ strains of hemp being sold in the legal cannabis shops in Milan. These strains are pre-approved by the Government, and usually quite low in their potency.
